Tactical Wireless Ltd win Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences Innovation Award
On Thursday 5th February, Tactical Wireless Ltd won the Innovation Award at the Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences Annual Awards and Dinner in Edinburgh and was a finalist for the Innovation Collaboration Award.
TWL worked with Aberdeen University to develop a system for transmitting ultrasound images from remote locations, at 95% diagnostic quality. For this, TWL won the Innovation Award at the 2015 Scottish Life Sciences Awards and the team was a finalist for the Innovation Collaboration Award.
Since then, TWL has further developed the system to simplify the use of this technology for Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (FAST) scans, to simplify the switching of the system to the optimum settings for each type of scan, and has introduced the Omni-Route Plus range, to provide an integrated solution that can be networked via Omni-Hub.Net and Crossfire, to enable experts to remotely review images, to enable real time support to be provided
Tactical Wireless' OMNI-HUB® is capable of managing inputs from sensors, analogue and digital video footage, data and audio, to reduce bandwidth requirements, and communicating multi-mode. OMNI-HUB® is a unique product that can transmit real-time data from remote locations, irrespective of the challenges caused by poor connectivity from insufficient telecommunications infrastructure.
